Nansulate® LDX – clear lead encapsulation coating offers an excellent solution to encapsulate lead- based paint contaminated buildings for remediation.
Energy & Atmosphere (EA) Credit 1: Optimize Energy Efficiency Performance
Coat walls & ceilings with Nansulate® Energy Protect (commercial) or HomeProtect (residential). Coat water heaters, ductwork or piping with Nansulate® Translucent PT. Coat roofs with Nansulate® Crystal. The coatings offer an easy, affordable way to upgrade a buildingʼs energy efficiency. ISO standard testing for thermal performance of building assemblies showed that the coatings blocked 34.8% of thermal flow. Field studies, as reported by customers, show increase in energy efficiency between 20%-40%, dependent upon application.
Materials & Resources (MR) Credit 1.1/1.2: Building Reuse - Maintain percentage of existing walls, floors & roof
Use Nansulate® to protect and lengthen lifespan of walls, pipes and roof. Nansulate® Energy Protect (commercial) or HomeProtect (residential) can be used to increase energy efficiency of daylighting windows, walls and ceilings and also provides a surface that is resistant to recurring mold or mildew growth. Nansulate® Crystal roof coating protects roof surfaces from UV and moisture, lengthening lifespan while also proving insulation. Nansulate® Translucent PT can be used on plumbing fixtures, pipes and similar surface to prevent corrosion and insulate.
All Nansulate® thermal insulation and mold resistant coatings for homes and buildings are low VOC. They have a VOC of 100 g/L which qualifies under the low emitting materials requirement.
Indoor Environmental Quality (EA) Credit 8.1: Daylight and Views
Coat daylight windows and skylights with Nansulate® Energy Protect. The coating allows through visible light, while reducing glare and UV penetration and increasing a window or skylightʼs thermal resistance in all seasons.
Apply Nansulate® Energy Protect (commercial) or HomeProtect (residential) to surfaces to inhibit the growth of mold on walls, ceilings or other surfaces. The coatings have been tested to ASTM G21 and D5590 and were shown to prevent growth of both new and existing molds without use of potentially harmful moldicides.
